Mexico seen from the catwalk of the second telescope of Observatory In The Mountains, September 26th, 2009
Looking at this image clears my mind. I can feel the wind blowing my thoughts and worries away as I stand on the summit of the tallest mountain around, enveloped by the endless sky and the land all around, closer to the stars than ever.
No one else exists in that moment.

Anything with blue sky gets me all welled up at the minute. In prehistoric times the Irish must have spent most of their time repenting for whatever it was they did that made the sun so angry.
Sigh.
Glad to hear from you again. I have now moved to the other end of the earth for six months. Until today it's been blue skies but now the Scottish aspect of the history of New Zealand has taken over and the weather would keep the average presbyterian Scot very happy this morning!
Thank you Overdue. I shall be plagerising your phrase. It is wonderfully evocative of the 'Scottish situation' too.
