Anniversary

Tonight we celebrated an anniversary of sorts: more or less one year ago, my friends met Friend Who Likes Science Fiction through a game of Never Have I Ever.

So tonight, we gathered in Friend With Many Pairs Of Sunglasses and Crazy Redhead Mathematically Inclined Friend's room and talked and gossiped and asked each other questions until, well, now.

I think it is a remarkable aspect of our friendship that we all feel comfortable enough with each other to reveal intensely personal things, that no one felt surprised or left out, and that there was no need for secrets because everything was shared.

Except for one thing. Perhaps we were all too tired at the end, or could not keep track of whose turn it was to ask and receive questions, but I never had the opportunity to answer "I write" to the question "What is one thing we don't know about you?"

On one hand, I feel that this is a very important aspect of who I am, but on the other, even if I had told them I kept a blog, I still wouldn't have told them what or where it was.

There was a night, some time ago, when a group of girls told each other some of their secrets and became very close together.

Since then, so much has changed, but tonight there was a group of girls telling each other almost all of their secrets, so much more intimately. They were already friends.

I am glad I have such friends.
