Summer is making its presence known. Today was unbearably hot, and it will get even hotter during the week. I know I signed up for it when I chose to remain in Texas, but it is unusually dry for this time of year. The City is already four inches of rainfall short of where it ought to be, and it is already in a semiarid climate zone.We discovered today that the A/C in the kitchen is broken: the ceiling was leaking and, upon opening the trapdoor that hides the cooling unit, we were showered with cold water, mold, and rotted wood.
Not a good sign.

As far as the temperatures go may I suggest playing the Glad Game: it's not 40 deg and humid!
So far as your other experience is concerned I'm not sure the Glad Game can be applied. On second thoughts it can. I once got covered from head to toe in the contents of a septic tank. I'd choose yours any day!
Air conditioning! What's that? The UK still hasn't heard of it yet. What wouldn't I give for it at home where every room is South facing and lots of glass.
(Actually I lie - the bathroom and loo aren't south facing but who wants to spend the day in there!)
