I spoke too soon. I should have remembered that Texas weather is as fickle as a bored Shakespearean mistress.
Today was a radiant day. Sunshine, warmth, and just breezy enough to keep you from roasting. Because of the recent rain, the Turtle Pond is almost overflowing and most of the rocks the turtles usually sit on are submerged. Perhaps warm concrete is irresistibly appealing, perhaps they were tired of overcrowding, perhaps they decided it was time to see the world. Whatever the reason, the turtles have decided to run amok today.
Some clambered on the side of Pond Number One, some took a stroll on the sidewalk, some went up to Pond Number Two, some sunbathed next to the trees, and a few even managed, like a trio of breeding salmon, to travel all the way to Pond Number Three!
Next to the turtles, students are sprawled on the grass, sunbathing. Bees buzz, the tower chimes, bicycles wheel by.
I wonder what tomorrow will bring.

I'm sorry. My brother and I and a friend Marcel Du Marché (nom de plume)often converse in emails with French phrases just to practice. It can be very difficult when phrases don't translate directly. For example I once talked to a friend in French about a situaltion being a can of worms. I used the phrase 'une boîte de les vers'. Needless to say he understood that I had said the situation was a can or tin of worms but had absolutely no idea what I was talking about.
