The beginning of summer

Where to begin?

I could talk about the very chocolatey cake Bro and I baked this afternoon.

I could talk about his experiments mixing Texan Soft Drink and instant cocoa powder.

I could talk about the cheese fondue there will be for dinner.

I could talk about chasing the Dastardly White Rabbit around the yard five times and not catching him.

I could talk about The Boy finally being back in the City, and the eight days until I see him again.

I could talk about the lovely dinner I had with all of my best friends from City Back Home a couple of days ago.

I could talk about playing computer games for hours on end.

I could talk about finally reading the books I hadn't had a chance to read yet but wanted to.

I could talk about sleeping in.

I could talk about the almost unbearably hot weather.

I could talk about the plans for Sis' approaching birthday party.

I could talk about Friend Who Likes Science-Fiction's unexpected birthday present.

Or I could talk about long phone calls on the back porch with the cicadas and fireflies and blooming jasmine.

But instead I will just say that I am having a very nice time.
