Life with a cast does tend to be harder than usual... I have to tie it up in a plastic bag to shower, I can't hold on to things, typing is rather difficult, driving is a pain, and my arm is starting to smell funny (there may or may not be a dead skunk in there.)
On the other hand, I made cream cheese pound cake, so tomorrow will be delicious. And the Medical Institute people who give us grant money will be visiting the lab, so there will be a lot of posing and wearing lab coats and looking knowledgeable. Also, Salamander Lady posted a job opening for her lab. Ecology and entomology. I want to give it a try, but 1) I've already been a more-active-than-necessary student in her class, so it might seem a bit stalkerish, and 2) the Doctor really wants me to stay as a mentor in the Fall/Spring (whooo, I might have a real job!)
We shall see.
In the meantime, I will attempt to clean up and rewrap my arm so it looks presentable.
