Surprise!

The weather service predicted a sunny day with some clouds.

I looked out of the slit that serves me as window this morning and saw fog.

Ten floors down, I had to take my umbrella out. It was drizzling.

I made it to class fifteen minutes early. The minute--literally, sixty seconds--after I walked into the building, the drizzle turned into a downpour.

Tiny Russian Friend walked into the classroom dripping. Same Name Friend came in ten minutes late--she had run and was as thoroughly drenched as if she had jumped into a pool clothed.

Two hours later, the sun was shining, and by the afternoon everything was dry. You'd never have known that the same morning the world was in danger of being washed away.

That's Texas weather for you!
