A life

We talked about Judaism today at lunch. It's one of the recurring topics. It came up because we were discussing stabbing people to death, and then whether that hurt or not, and then how it applied to Kosher meats. For meat to be Kosher, you have to kill the animal quickly, with a couple stabs, to spare it from feeling pain. Jews are, according to the rules, only allowed to eat Kosher meat. Except if they are about to die of starvation. In which case they are allowed to eat anything.

Because there is one thing that is sacred above all in Judaism, and that is a life. All of the other rules can be overlooked if it will save a life.

That is one of the many things I like about Judaism.
