There's nothing like crushing defeat to finish a perfect day.
We spent four hours in the lab waiting for the PCR to finish, waiting for the gel to run. And there were no results. No DNA.
We're going to have to redo the procedure with an E. coli test. If the E. coli show results and our samples still don't have DNA, we're going to have to redo the extraction. That's another ten hours of my life planned right there. If everything goes as expected, which it won't.
And since I didn't spend the night at the lab, I went to see The Dark Knight and drowned my sorrows in a pint of Ben & Jerry's.
And now I wish I had a phone so I could call someone who's probably asleep right now. So I guess it really wouldn't matter if I called or not. Because no one would answer.
But if someone could come up with a way to transport myself across thousands of miles instantly, that'd be nice.
I'm just depressed now, so I'm going to sleep. Goodness knows I need it.
