And so it begins

I've received notices from at least three professors announcing that the classes would be fast-paced and challenging, and assigning the first chapters of readings. I have so far trudged my way through 27 pages of syllabi, 11 pages of instructions, been notified that we shall be studying Günter Grass' Hochwasser instead of a Brecht play, for reasons unknown, and received a warning that I may have to switch back to my previous Genetics section and cancel the German class altogether because of scheduling issues on the department's part. I registered for an additional seminar, conveniently falling on my only free afternoon.

What can I say, it's for the greater good of mankind, right?

...Right?

Oh well.

On a side note, I listened to a recording of one of my friends singing a song from "The Phantom of the Opera." It was the first time I've heard her sing (and play the piano) for a full piece... And I was blown away. She has a beautiful voice, impeccable control, and an incredible range.
(This is not the song she sang, as I couldn't find a good version of it. This one is, however, one of my favorites. I love the 2004 movie, but I prefer the voices used in the original soundrack [of which this song is part])
