I passed my driver's permit test today. (Turns out I did need to know how many feet a car will travel when coming to a stop at 70 mph [154 feet for 1.5 seconds of reaction time, 233 feet to actually stop, 387 feet total. That's not good news for the neighbor's cat.])
Mother signed me up for driving lessons. (Wait, what?)
My left eye is now so nearsighted I can't even see the big letters on the top row at the optometrist's. (Yes, I know there are letters there. But only because you tell me so. All I see is two large blotches roughly the size of large watermelons.)
My last Christmas present came in the mail today. (But I'm not allowed to open it until tomorrow.)
I discovered we own a copy of the book I've wanted to read for the past couple months. (I also intend to reread any of her books that I happen to own, and a few other authors too in passing.)
All in all, your basic-standard-run-off-the-mill wonderful day, right? (Or so you think...)
Well, there's (even!) more.
But that, my friends, is a tale too lengthy to be told now. (As I have a busy morning tomorrow [Morgen morgen, for the Germanophile] and need all my wits about me then. Furthermore and Moreover [aren't these great transitions?], this one requires a cup of hot cocoa and a warm blanket to tell properly.)
